Which PLC platforms does it support?
A-B Copilot reads exported project files from Rockwell Studio 5000 / Logix (.L5X), RSLogix 500 / SLC / MicroLogix (.SLC or ASCII text), and Micro800 / Connected Components Workbench (.isaxml or .annex). You export from the vendor tool and open that file in A-B Copilot. It does not read native project files like .ACD or .RSS. Export to a supported format first!.
Does it connect to my PLC?
No. A-B Copilot never connects to a controller, never goes online to a device, and never downloads or changes a program. It works only on exported project files sitting on your own computer. It is a read-and-explain tool, not a programming terminal.
Does my code leave my computer?
Only when you ask a question. Opening projects, drawing ladder, searching, and browsing all run entirely offline. When you ask the AI something, your question and the relevant logic are sent to Anthropic's API using your own API key, nowhere else. There is no vendor server, no telemetry, and no data sent to third parties. If you never ask a question, A-B Copilot makes no network connections at all.
Do I need my own API key?
Yes. The AI features use the Anthropic API with a key you supply, billed to your own Anthropic account. You enter it once on the activation screen. This keeps your usage private to you and means we never mark up or meter your AI costs. You can get a key at console.anthropic.com.
How does the free trial work?
You get a 7-day trial with every feature unlocked, nothing is limited during the trial. The remaining days show in the app. When it ends, your saved chats and settings stay in place; you simply load a permanent license to continue. Trials and licenses are tied to one computer.
Can I get a refund?
Because a license is delivered as a file bound to your machine and cannot be returned or deactivated once issued, licenses are non-refundable. That is exactly why the trial exists use the full 7 days to confirm A-B Copilot works with your projects and fits your workflow before you buy.
